Learns over time

The Dyson V11™ battery and monitoring system work together to gauge how much run time is remaining.

This is displayed on the machine's LCD screen. The system calculates run time using an algorithm that ‘learns’ how your machine works over time, with the algorithm increasing in accuracy with use. The actual run time of your machine remains unaffected while the algorithm learns to more accurately gauge remaining power.

Charging your vacuum

It's important to fully charge your machine and any additional click-in batteries as soon as you open the box, and after every clean. This helps to improve the algorithm's accuracy. The battery is designed to be left on charge permanently, so that it is fully charged when it's next used. Once the battery is fully charged it will only use a very small amount of electricity to ensure that it's ready to go when you need it.

Battery performance

All batteries may vary during their lifetime. Run time can be affected by the cleaning mode you use and the different power draw on varied surfaces. For example, long-pile carpets will draw more power than short pile.

How to swap your click-in battery

The latest Dyson V11™ vacuums use a click-in battery. To swap your click-in battery, press the red battery release button and pull the battery away from the handle. We recommend alternating and charging all click-in batteries regularly to prolong battery health.

Additional batteries are available to buy separately.
